The Delicious Straightaway Cafe Between Asheville & Charlotte NC
When visiting the Asheville area, there are several small towns nearby that you must visit. Black Mountain in one of them. We passed through recently and decided to stop by Straightaway Cafe. And we are so glad we did!
The Straightaway Cafe in Black Mountain North Carolina, just 15 minutes from Downtown Asheville, has been a staple in the community for many years. If you ever traveled from Hendersonville, Chimney Rock or Lake Lure to Black Mountain NC, Highway 9 is a beautiful route to take. And it is not straight at all, except for one spot, where there is a long straightaway… and that’s exactly where it is located.
We enjoyed eating outside, watching and listening to the motorcycles roar by, with many of them stopping in to eat.
The “Community Kitchen” sign is a symbol of food, love, family and neighbors to us.
The Heart Bowl at Straightaway Cafe was so amazing. GET THIS!
Now this burger from Hickory Nut Gap Farms in Fairview North Carolina was so tasty and cooked to perfection.
We always love to find some delish Spinach & Artichoke Dip, and the Straightaway Cafe had just that! They ran out of Pita due to high demand, so they cut up some sourdough bread for us.
When I look at this photo, I see “Freak Flag Fryday” & “Weednesday”… I’m in! We will definitely be back soon.
It’s always farm to table here at the Straightaway Cafe, with chickens on deck!
